Is Grief Weighing You Down? Feeling Like Anxiety is Taking Over Your Life?

As an experienced BACP Registered Counsellor, I put your needs at the core of therapy.

Grief and Loss Support – As a bereavement counsellor, I’m here to listen, offer understanding, and support you, creating a space where you can process your loss at your own pace. It also serves as a resource to help make sense of the complex and natural emotions that accompany grief, supporting you through sadness, confusion, anger, and even guilt.

Grief can feel like waves of intense emotion, crashing over you when you least expect it. It might show up as deep sadness, bursts of anger, or a sense of emptiness that seems impossible to fill.

It can often be challenging to express our feelings to family and friends for various reasons, such as fear of upsetting them or feeling like a burden. Counselling provides a safe space for you to share and explore your feelings without judgment or the need to hold back. Together, we will navigate your loss by exploring your thoughts, feelings, and memories at your own pace.

Other types of Loss – Loss and grief aren’t limited to bereavement, they can also stem from the end of a job, the decline in someone’s health, the breakdown of a relationship, or the loss of a home. If you’re here, you might be facing one of these challenges and considering counselling for support. Working with an experienced counsellor can help you process your thoughts and express how you feel during times when you’re grieving the loss of something important.

Support with Anxiety – Anxiety can feel like a constant storm brewing inside, a restless energy that’s hard to shake. It may come as a racing heart, an uneasy feeling in the pit of your stomach, or relentless worries that keep you awake at night. Sometimes, it’s like an invisible weight pressing down, making even simple tasks feel overwhelming.

Anxiety is your mind’s way of responding to stress, but when it starts to take over, it can affect every part of your life, from your relationships to your ability to enjoy the things you love.

You don’t have to face it alone—there are ways to regain a sense of calm and control.

As a trauma-informed practitioner, I recognise how trauma can deeply impact individuals’ lives, shaping their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in ways that may feel overwhelming or unmanageable. I understand that trauma can manifest in many forms, whether from a single event or ongoing experiences, it often leaves individuals feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsafe.

My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and a commitment to creating a safe space where healing can begin at your pace. Together, we can work to process these experiences and build resilience, empowering you to reclaim your sense of control and well-being.

Counselling can create a secure environment to gain insight into our behaviours and work toward positive change.

What to expect in your first session… It’s completely normal to feel nervous during your first session, but I hope to create a warm, judgment-free space where you can feel at ease and safe.  I will discuss confidentiality with you, answer any questions you may have and take the time to begin to get to know you and the challenges you’re facing.

Finding the right support… I understand that finding the right support can feel overwhelming and daunting. I encourage you to take some time to visit my website, linked at the top of my profile page, to learn more about my approach and see if we might be a good fit for your therapy journey.
