My name is Alison, and I am a Person-Centred counsellor dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and discover their inner strength. With years of experience and a passion for supporting others, I believe that every person has the capacity for growth and self-discovery.

My journey into counselling began with a deep-seated desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives. I’ve come to understand the transformative power of empathy, active listening, and creating a safe space for self-exploration. I firmly believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences freely.

During our sessions, I aim to:

  • Provide unconditional positive regard and empathy,
  • Offer active, reflective listening to help you gain clarity,
  • Support you in identifying and working towards your personal goals,
  • Encourage self-discovery and personal growth,
  • Respect your unique experiences and perspectives and experiences and education.

I have over 8 years’ experience working with children and young people aged 5-12, this has been both working face to face and online via Microsoft Teams. My current work is as an online counsellor working with children and young people under the age of 18. I am also working with adult’s face to face and on the phone who are survivors of sexual abuse, CSE, domestic violence and who have suffered trauma. I am also a Mental Health Mentor, and I support university students, this work is online and it is to support them with everyday tasks such as time management, setting goals, working towards deadlines and joining in and enjoying their university journey.
