Hello, my name is Joanne, and I provide a safe space in a non-judgmental and caring setting to promote understanding, acceptance and positive life changes.

I am a licensed counsellor with 6 years professional work experience. I have helped clients with stress, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, loneliness, lack of confidence, motivation issues and to cope with challenging life changes.

Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

I have a Diploma in Person-Centered Counselling from the University of the Highlands and Islands Inverness. I am a registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adhere to the Ethical Framework and Code of Practice.

The Person-Centered Approach is based on a deep respect for the person and the belief that the relationship between the counsellor and the client is of primary importance. It is the client who knows their issue and has the capacity within the safety of a therapeutic relationship to begin a healing process.

I offer you a deep acceptance, desire to understand and a commitment to being genuine in the therapeutic relationship. These qualities, offered professionally and consistently, are the central and distinctive characteristics of the Person-Centered Approach.

I will not tell you what to do, put you under pressure or judge you. I will walk alongside you. By listening and responding in a caring, accepting and honest way it helps provide positive conditions for you to explore your issues in a safe place. This can hopefully open up a space for healing to happen.
